There was a nonsense article going around last week about how 1999 was the last great year for the movies - that's not to say 1999 wasn't a great year for movies, it was, we did an entire series of posts on the greatness of 1999 way way way back in this blog's early days; we're just saying there have been great years for the movies since then - and nowhere did the article even mention Deep Blue Sea, can you imagine! Have they no memory of Samuel L. Jackson getting chomped in half mid-rah-rah? Or Thomas Jane first in just those little shorts and then for the rest of the movie in just a wetsuit?
